Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke recently handed in a transfer request and has been linked with a host of clubs.

The Belgian striker only joined Aston Villa last summer from Genk for around £7m but has been a star for Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old has scored 23 goals in 39 appearances for Villa and displayed his strength, speed and clinical finishing during the course of last season. He was key to Villa staying up.

Benteke is now being chased by a long list of clubs including Tottenham, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Belgian has a big decision to make with the World Cup just around the corner and needs to pick a side where he will score plenty of goals and play regular first-team football.

Benteke would be taking a big risk joining a club outside the Premier League. Atletico Madrid had been mooted but have now agreed a deal to sign David Villa.

Inside the Premier League, Manchester City and Chelsea are the strongest clubs which have been linked.

However, Manchester City are prioritising other strike targets such as Alvaro Negredo and Stefan Jovetic. City also already have Sergio Aguero, who would most likely start ahead of Benteke.

Chelsea are said to be keen but, with fellow Belgian Romelu Lukaku at the London side, Benteke will be in direct competition with Lukaku for his spot in the Belgium national side and at Chelsea.

Liverpool would be a good club for Benteke but that depends on whether Luis Suarez stays or not. If Suarez stays Benteke would find chances limited.

This leaves Tottenham, who are in dire need of a striker. Emmanuel Adebayor is set to leave this summer and current striker Jermain Defoe is nearly 31.

Benteke would be almost guaranteed first-team football at Spurs.

Benteke fits Spurs current system of 4-2-3-1 and can play in Spurs' coach Andre Villas-Boas' preferred 4-3-3 formation as he does for his country.

He will also receive great service from the wings from the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend. He will also settle in at Spurs with ease with fellow countrymen Jan Vertonghen and Moussa Dembele already at the club.

Benteke would score loads of goals at Spurs if he decides to go there, and as a consequence would most likely cement a place in the Belgium squad for the next World Cup.
