Over recent years we have seen many big-name signings made by Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson rarely lost out on his man.
But is David Moyes' worldwide reputation having a negative impact on new transfers? We have already seen Manchester United lose out on Dutch youngster Marco van Ginkel to Chelsea, as well as hitman Robert Lewandowski, whose future lays with Bayern Munich.
Will we see United lose out on more star players including Kevin Strootman, Leighton Baines, Gareth Bale and Ezequiel Garay?
With Chelsea and Manchester City making big signings already, Moyes will need to act quick if he wants his team to keep up with the pace.
Manchester United need to strengthen their midfield as the likes of Anderson, Darren Fletcher, Ashley Young, and Tom Cleverley may find themselves struggling to dominate the midfield next season.
The transfer of Thiago Alcantara looks almost complete, and this may push Anderson and Cleverley even further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
The performances of Michael Carrick last season have helped his cause for first-team action under the new manager, whilst Shinji Kagawa looks a very promising talent.
On top of this, Nani looks like he could be on his way out, and Ecuadorian winger Antonia Valencia will be hoping to shrug off a disappointing season by proving some doubters when the season is finally underway.
In my opinion, Moyes should look at signing two central midfielders, a left midfielder, and a right midfielder. This will ensure competition for places throughout the season, and hopefully push the talented squad towards more titles.
Are potential signings finding it difficult to sign for Manchester United after the retirement of Sit Alex?
As a Manchester United fan, I seriously hope not. Moyes has the absolute backing of the Manchester United faithful and the potential to become a world-class manager, but he will need to make some quality signings in order to help this squad challenge for success again this season.
