Liverpool youngster Suso is set to join Spanish side Almería on loan, according to Sky Sports.

The two clubs have reportedly agreed a season-long loan deal for the 19-year-old playmaker, and he should join up with the Spanish club for pre-season.

The teenager broke into the Liverpool first team earlier last season under Brendan Rodgers, but failed to cement a starting place in the team.

The Anfield boss has now decided his development would best be served by first-team football rather than a combination of under-21 action and substitute appearances for the Reds senior squad.

He's made 20 appearances for Liverpool, and signed a new long-term deal with the club after breaking into the team in October last year.

Almeria were promoted from the Segunda division to La Liga Primera last season, and new manager Francisco Rodriguez is looking for young talent to help consolidate his side's position in the top flight.

Suso will return to his homeland to play for the first time since he left Cadiz for Liverpool in 2010.

The Spain under-21 international is versatile and can play across several attacking positions.

But he would find his first-team opportunities at Anfield limited next season following the arrival of Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto from La Liga.
