Jerome Thomas completes Crystal Palace move
Jerome Thomas has signed a two-year-deal with newly-promoted Crystal Palace
Former Arsenal winger Jerome Thomas has made the move to newly-promoted Crystal Palace.
Thomas has signed a two-year-deal with Ian Holloway's side, who are looking to avoid relegation at this first attempt, following their promotion to the Premier League in May.
The Eagles triumphed over Watford in the Championship play-off final, beating the
Hornets 2-1, securing the £120m payment that took them straight into the Premier League.
Thomas was considered hot property following his release from West Brom at the end of the season, and a number of clubs had been racing to sign the former Arsenal midfielder. But it was Holloway who won the race for his signature, and he will join up with his new team-mates shortly.
Holloway has not hesitated in adding to his squad already this summer to ensure that his team is ready to compete in the top flight of English football next season. Teenage sensation Dwight Gale has arrived from Peterborough and striker Steven Dobbie from Brighton meaning that Crystal Palace have already been reasonably active in the window already.
And Thomas has spoken of his delight at making the move to Selhurst Park to next season.
"I heard of Crystal Palace's interest from January actually, and once they got promoted Ollie gave me a call when I was away on holiday, we had a good talk for about 45 minutes and after that the conversation there wasn't much doubt in my mind where I wanted to go," he told Crystal Palace's official website.
