In a summer filled by big name transfers - Manchester City are set to make a shock bid for Paris Saint-Germain and rivals Manchester United target Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Daily Star.
This could be the biggest swoop of the transfer window, with a reported bid being set up.
However, the bid would have to be over the previous offer from PSG of £55million but is unlikely to break the current transfer record held by Ronaldo himself.
The former Manchester United player could cause controversy by being one of a few players to have played for both Manchester sides.
Carlos Tevez - who played for both Manchester sides - showed the potential positives that could arise from this transfer, but with that swap comes the instant dislike from the loyal fans of Manchester.
It is reported Ronaldo will be offered a jaw-dropping £300,000-a-week contract to lure him to the blue side of Manchester, which would surely make Manchester City favourites in the title race in the upcoming season.
It is thought a bid in the region of £70million would be enough to tempt the current Real Madrid player back to England.
Manchester City are still looking to add to their super star squad despite already completing the signings of Sevilla's Jesus Navas and Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk.
