Chelsea and Manchester United starlet target Luke Shaw is set to snub their interest and remain at Southampton, according to reports.

The Daily Echo claims the 17-year-old will pen a new five-year contract with the Saints tomorrow (Friday), in a move that coincides with his 18th birthday.

Shaw has been at St. Mary’s since joining the academy, and made his first-team debut in the FA Cup two seasons ago.

The teenager subsequently became a regular last term under both Nigel Adkins and Mauricio Pochettino, proving he had the ability to play in the Premier League.

His form has led to interest from the division’s big boys, with Chelsea one of the teams linked with a move.

Before the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, the Blues were reported to be considering a move for the £10million-rated full-back.

And, if Shaw were to move to Chelsea, he’d learn his trade under senior England international Ashley Cole.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have Patrice Evra and Alex Buttner as their current left-back options at Old Trafford.

New Red Devils boss David Moyes has been linked with a move for Leighton Baines however, with the Scot reportedly keen to be reunited with his former player.
The Daily Express claims Shaw is another player that Manchester United are interested in signing, but the Premier League champions appear set to be rebuffed.
