Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has already completed the signing of Croatian defender Dejan Lovren from Lyon and has now completed the signing of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama from Celtic.
So what exactly are the Southamptons managers priorites for the coming season?
The Southampton manager has stated on the Sky Sports website that midfield is 'the key' to success on the south coast next season.
Even though Southamptons midfield is argueably the strongest part of their team, Pochettino has decided to splash out in that department.
Others would argue that Southampton need to focus on strengthening the defence after leaking 60 goals in the Premier League last term.
But Pochettino's priorties as a manager have always be founded in possession and he has passed this statistic on from Espanyol to Southampton.
He has ensured that his opponents have had a below average share of the ball in all of the games he's been in charge of the Saints. This is his style.
The decision to buy Wanyama backs up Pochettino's priority to make possession and midfield vital to his side's upcoming campaign.
The Kenyan midfielder is a strong fighter of a player who can help put the possesion method into action. Pochettino told Sky Sports: "We are a big admirer of his talents and he will fit in well to the team here at Southampton."
"I've watched him perform at the top level in the Champions League, and I believe that he will be a valuable addition to our Premier League squad for the season ahead."
