Wilfried Zaha to shine at Old Trafford?
Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted Wilfried Zaha will be part of his plans next season
New Manchester United manager David Moyes has stated that Wilfried Zaha will get his chance to shine next season at Old Trafford.
The England under-21 wide-man impressed Moyes in United's 1-0 defeat to Singha All Stars in Bangkok during their first match of their pre-season tour.
Zaha, 20, was a second-half substitute for the Red Devils and came close to bagging himself a goal but was left disappointed after seeing his shot hit the post.
"He gave us a little bit of something different," Moyes told Sky Sports: "The more he plays like that, the more opportunities he is likely to get."
The young Englishman does not have too much competition at Old Trafford, with Antonio Valenica, Nani and Ashley Young being the only other out-and-out wingers at the club.
Nani has been strongly linked with a summer move to Serie A side Roma. This would then give Zaha a huge opportunity to get first-team action at the club and silence any critics he may have.
However, possibly the two most exciting wide players in world football, ex-United player Cristiano Ronaldo, 28, and Gareth Bale, 23, have been linked with a move to the Premier League champions.
If these rumours are true, Zaha should not be worried of being forced out of the squad to spend another year on-loan. Moyes has assured the player he will remain in his plans ahead of the 2013/14 season and he will be given plenty of opportunities to demonstrate his talents.
"He will certainly be part of the squad and we will see where we can fit him in as often as we can."
