Liverpool would reportedly be prepared to sell Luis Suarez to Arsenal before the transfer deadline, should the north London club meet the valuation placed on the Uruguayan striker.
According to SportsDirect News, Liverpool would consider allowing Suarez to join their Premier League rivals if Arsenal were to bid £40 million or upwards for the player.
Arsenal have already been credited with a formal approach for Suarez, who outlined earlier this summer his intention to leave Anfield having grown frustrated with life in the Premier League.
Arsenal are reportedly considering returning with an improved offer for Suarez, and it would seemingly take a relatively minimal increase in order for them to capture the player.
Despite his apparent desire to leave English football, Suarez claimed last week claimed to be flattered at the supposed interest of Arsenal in his services.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, however, remains hopeful Suarez will stay with the club beyond the close of the transfer window, and says he has been in constant communication with his striker since the end of the season.
Should he stay in the Premier League, Suarez will miss the first six games of the new campaign having received a lengthy suspension for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovoc.
