Sam Allardyce has been quoted as saying that he is interested in Inter Milan midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
Kuzmanovic, who signed in the January transfer window from Stuttgart, is reportedly on the verge of joining the Hammers for a fee worth £5m.
Allardyce spoke of his interest after a friendly game against Bournemouth, which ended in a 2-0 victory. West Ham's manager says he is happy with the current squad and is glad that he doesn't have to search for a new signing to bolster his team.
Allardyce told reporters: "He is a player I like, but I know nothing about it so cannot comment."
"For the first time in eight years, I have got a good squad together right at the start of pre-season."
He added: "Normally I am six or seven short and I have to skimp around to get them in, but not this year.
"We would like to add to that of course, although it will only be one or two max. Position wise, we need an attacking player first and then we will see where we go.
"At this moment, it depends on the player who is available. It needs to be a quality player who brings a lot to the team for us to go after him."
Other reports suggest that West Ham are also interested in signing West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie, who has a year left to run on his current contract. West Ham could lure him away with a bid of £1.5m.
