Everton have advanced their negotiations with Granada to sign left-back Guilherme Siqueira, the Daily Mail have reported.

It has been suggested that the Brazilian is being lined up as a potential replacement for Leighton Baines, but only if he is sold to Manchester United, who are managed by former Toffees' boss David Moyes.

Officials from the club met with the 27-year-old's representatives earlier this month, where the possibility of a £4m move was discussed.

But the deal will not be completed should Baines stay at Goodison Park, even though personal terms are close to being agreed.

Siqueira has also attracted interest from Stoke City before Tony Pulis left the club, while Galatasaray also want to sign him.

New Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, as four new players have already been signed, and the Spaniard is keen to make his own mark on the team.
