Premier League new arrivals Hull City have signed former Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper, who left the Toon after 20 years with the club.

Hull have been tracking a new goalkeeper as they seek to build up on their squad during the upcoming Premier League season, after being promoted through automatic the spots from the Championship.

Harper had started his senior career at Newcastle United as a teenager at the age of 18, with numerous loan spells in his time at St James Park, his latest one being at Brighton & Hove Albion in 2011.

Harper wasn't the first choice keeper, with Tim Krul being Newcastle's main man in between the sticks.

The new Hull 'keeper will now hope to gain a place in the first-team at the KC stadium - Harper will add his Premier League experience to the Tigers' squad.

Will we see much of Harper next season for the Premier League new-comers?
