Rio Ferdinand took time out of Manchester United’s pre-season training session in Sydney to meet-and-greet a fan.

In behind the scenes footage sent to GiveMeSport, the 34-year-old centre back is seen coming back out from the dressing room to sign a shirt and take pictures with the youngster.

The video is one part of Rio’s Tour Diary, which the former England international is keeping to show what life is like on tour.

United jetted out to Thailand to open their friendly fixtures against the Singha all-stars, before jetting across to Australia ahead of the clash against the A-League all-stars.

It’s next stop Japan for the Red Devils after that, with games against Yokohama F. Marinos and Cerezo Osaka to follow. The short trip to Hong Kong follows, with David Moyes’ side then set to face Kitchee SC.

Sweden is the final foreign destination for the Premier League champions, with a game against AIK bringing the trip to a close. It’s then back to Old Trafford for Ferdinand’s highly-anticipated testimonial, with players new and old set to feature against Sevilla.

And, you’ll be kept up-to-date throughout the trip, as Rio posts various clips and interviews from the other side of the world.
