Manchester United transfer target Marco Verratti has admitted that ‘a few clubs’ want to sign him this summer.
The 20-year-old Italian international midfielder had a brilliant debut season with Paris Saint-Germain, and still has four-years left to run on his contract at the Parc des Princes after moving from Pescara last summer.
But, his form in Ligue 1 and the Champions League has led to plenty of transfer speculation, with Sky Sports reporting the Red Devils are one of the clubs keen on the youngster.
They aren’t alone, it would seem, with Verratti revealing he’s unsure what the future holds in France. The youngster did not rule out a move away from the champions, but admitted the club would have to sign-off any move away.
"A few clubs want me. But it's not only up to me; it's also up to the club. I believe in PSG's plan and next year I want to play at the World Cup,” Verratti told Il Centro.
"In Paris I'm a regular player, so it's ideal. One day I'll surely come back to play in Italy but I don't know if that will be in a few weeks or in a few years. PSG is the present."
Manchester United have been linked with a move all summer, with reports back in May claiming Sir Alex Ferguson was considering a move for the £20million-rated midfielder.
Speculation continued into June, and despite the arrival of David Moyes as successor to Ferguson, the Premier League champions continued to be linked.
Verratti has now confirmed that clubs are courting his signature, but Manchester United would first have to agree a fee with PSG before attempting to persuade the player to move to Old Trafford.
