Liverpool land teenager from Valencia

Published 2 Comments

Liverpool have landed Valencia teenager Pedro Chirivella on a four-year deal, according to reports.

The People claims Brendan Rodgers has agreed a deal with the 17-year-old, although a tribunal could be drafted in, as the two clubs are yet to reach a settlement on the fee.

Los Che want £3.5million for the player, described as a ‘midfield sensation’ in the paper, whilst Liverpool are offering around £2million less than that figure.

Chirvella has previously turned down the chance to join Barcelona, according to the paper, after Valencia agreed a fee with the Catalan giants.

His move to Liverpool continues the trend of players making the switch from Spain to Merseyside, with Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto already drafted in by Rodgers this summer.

The aforementioned duo are much more likely to be involved in first team activity at Anfield however, with Chirvella one for the future.

He will join an exciting crop of Reds talent in the academy and development squad, with Jordan Ibe, Conor Coady and Adam Morgan all potential stars of the future for the Reds.
