Liverpool forward Dani Pacheco will not go on the Anfield club’s pre-season tour of Asia as he looks to resolve his future this summer.
The 22-year-old arrived on Merseyside with a big reputation at youth level and was tipped to break into the first team alongside Fernando Torres, but he failed to make the breakthrough.
Now after five years at Liverpool, Pacheco confirmed he would be staying in England while the rest of Brendan Rodgers’ squad go on tour to organise his future.
“Finally not travelling to Asia. Will talk about my future this season in next couple of days. Thank you. YNWA,” he tweeted.
Another player whose future is in doubt is Luis Suarez, though Liverpool have included him in the squad to for the games in Thailand, Indonesia and Australia.
Arsenal and Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the Uruguay striker, who has made public his desire to play Champions League football.
Liverpool managing director, Ian Ayre, confirmed the Merseysiders had received a bid from the Gunners for Suarez but rejected it immediately.
Rodgers is still hopeful of keeping hold of the 26-year-old but reports have suggested they will be willing to sell if the right offer came in.
