Liverpool have reportedly identified Juventus pair Fabio Quagliarella and Alessandro Matri as potential transfer window acquisitions, although will face competition from Norwich for the Italians.

According to the Daily Express, both Liverpool and Norwich are keen on the players despite having each moved to reinforce their goalscoring options already this summer.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has already recruited Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo, although the potential departure of Luis Suarez is seemingly leading him back into the transfer market.

Norwich, meanwhile, secured the signing of Dutchman Ricky van Wolfswinkel on the opening day of the window, but the sale of captain Grant Holt to Wigan has left the Canaries in need of fresh faces.

Quagliarella and Matri are both reported to have been informed by Juventus boss Antonio Conte that they can pursue transfers having been deemed surplus to requirements, with Liverpool and Norwich potential destinations for the pair.

Last season, Quagliarella scored 13 times for Juventus in all competitions, but the arrival of Carlos Tevez in Turin has seen him slide down the pecking order with the Serie A champions.

Matri, meanwhile, found the net on 10 occasions last term, and also finds himself sidelined after the signing of Tevez, who also joins Fernando Llorente at the Juventus Stadium.
