New Manchester City signing Fernandinho was in high spirits after finally donning the club's sky blue jersey in a pre-season debut in South Africa.
The Brazilian box-to-box midfielder was named in Manuel Pellegrini's starting line-up as the Chilean managed his new club for the first time against Supersport United in Pretoria.
After the friendly match, the Brazilian told MCFC.co.uk: "I've been looking forward to my debut for the last month, it felt like first day at school.
"Being able to play in such a big team is very exciting. It is a special moment to play for your new club like City. It felt a great honour to play with such big names and fantastic players."
The 28-year-old, known for his blistering pace and ability to shoot accurately from distance, accepts that he is not 100% fit after an average show in the match, which City lost 2-0.
He is, however, elated about the club's training setup and tremendous facilities available for him and is sure about coming to his best as the season comes near.
Fernandinho finished by saying his biggest challenge now is to learn English.
“I don’t feel 100% fit yet but I have two weeks of pre-season now to train, then hopefully I will feel top quality," he said.
“I already feel very happy at the club but the biggest challenge for me now is the language.
“Although I understand English, I need to learn how to speak it better."
