Luis Suarez has reiterated his desire to leave Liverpool and could stay in England to play his football, after Arsenal had a £30m offer rejected by the Merseyside club.

Arsenal have reportedly had their initial offer turned back by Liverpool and are reconsidering a new £35million offer to tempt Liverpool into offloading their in-form striker.

Also, the temptation of Champions League football should give Suarez the opportunity to try and push through a deal that would see him move south to London.

Sources close to the Arsenal board also have reason to understand that the healthy relationship between the two clubs will provide a lot of optimism that a deal may be possible for fans of the north London side.

As well as this, Suarez still has not ruled out a genuine possibility that he could be playing Champions League football next season, but the question remains as to who he could be playing for come September.

Arsene Wenger refused to reveal any information about a deal between the clubs. Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “You want me to announce a spectacular signing, but I can't.

"We are working behind the scenes to strengthen the squad - but I can't give you names.”

In the meantime, Arsenal have been linked to a number of other top strikers in recent weeks, so the possibility of the signing being made may seem a little brittle when it appears that talks between Arsenal and Gonzalo Higuain have all but gone stale.

Until anything is announced, Arsenal continue to prepare outside of England with Arsene Wenger will be taking his current squad to face Vietnam after their 7-0 victory over Indonesia’s Dream Team on the weekend.
