Manchester United have rejected a £10million plus Juan Mata or David Luiz bid from Chelsea for England striker Wayne Rooney, according to the Daily Mail.

David Moyes has stated on several occasions that unsettled striker Rooney is not for sale at any price.

However Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly launched a bid for Rooney.

Since pulling out of United's Asia tour due to a hamstring injury, the 27-year-old forward has expressed his desire to leave and is said that Rooney will have to hand in a formal transfer request in order to force a move out of Old Trafford.

Rooney is said to be 'angry and confused' because Moyes said he saw the England striker as a back-up to first choice Premier League Golden Boot winner Robin van Persie.

With the World Cup only one year away, the England international has no intentions of becoming a squad member - which has alerted Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Moyes faces another dilemma, but he will look to hold on to his star man as United try to shape up to defend their Premier League title.
