Liverpool look set to launch a double swoop for Ajax aces Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld.
The Merseysiders have been linked with the Ajax duo since the summer window opened and now seem to be ready to firm up their interest in the players with a formal bid.
Brendan Rodgers announced last week that he was still in the market for some top players and Alderweireld and Eriksen fit the bill.
Danish attacking midfielder Eriksen was subject to interest from Premier League rivals Spurs and Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, but both seemed to have cooled their interest in the Ajax playmaker after opening the cheque book to bring in marquee signings of their own.
Alderweireld is said to have had offers from all over Europe for his services but sources close to the player seem to think that the Belgian is holding out for a move to Anfield. Ajax have accepted they are going to lose both key players and have already accepted bids of around £7 million for their prized centre-half.
As well as Alderweireld, Eriksen is also in the final year of his Ajax contract and the Dutch giants look set to sell Eriksen for as little as £15 million. This figure seems to excite Liverpool boss Rodgers as he looks to add more depth to his squad.
Other players that have been linked to Anfield are Italian U-21 playmaker Jorginho and Brazilian hot-shot, Bernard. But reports insist that Eriksen is the man for Rodgers and Alderweireld may follow his teammate to the Merseyside Outfit.
