Chelsea and Manchester City are ‘ready to swoop’ for Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports.
The Daily Star claims the Premier League duo are both on the lookout for a striker this summer, and are both keen on the 31-year-old Swedish star.
Ibrahimovic is far from happy at PSG, according to the report, after the Ligue 1 champions spent big to bring Edinson Cavani to the Parc des Princes.
The former Barcelona, AC Milan and Ajax star has also fallen out with new manager Laurent Blanc, the paper claims, despite the former France boss being in the job for just three weeks.
Ibrahimovic earns wages of more than £11million, meaning the Citizens and Blues are the only teams able to realistically afford the player in England.
Manchester City are light in attack, following the departures of Mario Balotelli in January and Carlos Tevez earlier this summer.
That leaves just Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko at manager Manuel Pellegrini’s disposal, as the Etihad Stadium outfit look to mount another title charge next season.
Ibrahimovic would certainly add some additional firepower to the Manchester City line-up, and also be a signing that makes shockwaves around Europe.
The same would be true if the player moved to Chelsea, as new boss Jose Mourinho looks for repeat success in his second spell at the club.
Fernando Torres and Demba Ba are the options available to ‘the Special One’ at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues also relatively light in attack.
Wayne Rooney has also been linked, as Chelsea look to get back in the domestic title mix.
