Mark Selby says that he is looking forward to the upcoming Rotterdam Open.

The Rotterdam Open is the first tournament to be held in the Netherlands in over 20 years and the former number one says that he is excited to have the opportunity to play there.

Speaking to world, he said: "Snooker has become really popular in Europe in recent years and it will be interesting to go to The Netherlands for the first time and see what the support is like there."

Selby reached the semi-final in the last competition he played in - Australia's Goldfield Open - where he lost to Neil Robertson.

Robertson seems to have become his main competitive rival, as the two compete for the top spot in the rankings - a place that the Australian took off Selby last year.

"I have got a bit of momentum now and hopefully I can keep it going," added Selby.

"I nearly went out in the first round in Australia as I was 3-0 down to Ian Burns but I managed to win that game and after that I played well.

"It would be nice to get the number one ranking back from Neil."

Selby is scheduled to face Scott Donaldson in the first round in Holland, although he does face in injury worry, after suffering with a swollen finger.
