The Boston Celtics are looking to sign free-agent centre Greg Oden as he prepares to make his NBA return for the 2013/14 season, according to Celtics Life.
The injury-prone star hasn't featured in an NBA match since December of 2009, but was believed to have met up with the Celtics back in February and the club are still trying to secure a deal with Oden.
The former number one pick has only managed to play in 82 games throughout his entire career due to constant knee trouble, averaging 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over 22.1 minutes per game.
If Oden can stay fit he'd be a great signing for any team, he has great potential and is expected to be available at a cut-price. With the departure of Kevin Garett, a move to sign Oden makes a lot of sense as he will bring great quality into the side.
However, many teams are monitoring the player's situation which include San Antonio, New Orleans, Charlotte, Indiana and Dallas, so the Celtics may have a fight on their hands if they are to acquire his signature.
