Manchester United's new chief executive Ed Woodward has reportedly left United's pre-season tour in Australia because of urgent transfer business.
It's unknown what the business is about and whether it's regarding a player leaving or whether a new signing is on their way out - as it was announced that Chelsea have made a bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney which has been rejected.
Chelsea made a statement which read: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney.
"Although the terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is currently being briefed to the press in Sydney.
"The proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."
Numerous media outlets have reported that Cesc Fabregas - who United have already launched a bid for - could be the player Woodward has opened talks with.
Manchester United have also been linked with the likes Marouane Fellaini, Leighton Baines and Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay.
