Andrew Wiggins hails Kobe Bryant as closest comparison to Michael Jordan
Kobe Bryant has had to live with comparisons to NBA legend Michael Jordan since his high school days and now, aged 34, the LA Lakers star is still unable to remove himself from the shadow of the Chicago Bulls great.
Bryant has recently outlined his intention to continue his playing days for another two years and may end his career having surpassed the achievements of Jordan, with the former just one NBA ring behind the former Bull.
Regardless of his future success, the Lakers shooting guard is guaranteed his place in NBA history as one of the best ever and, according to the latest high school superstar, Bryant is the closest their has ever been to another Jordan.
Andrew Wiggins, a player tipped to emulate Bryant in the NBA, says there is no other player in the sport who he'd rather have the opportunity to face one-on-one than Kobe, who he ranks right at the top of the sport's greats.
The likely 2014 No.1 draft pick told reporters "Kobe. he's the closest thing to Jordan & Jordan's the greatest of all time."
Wiggins, 18, has won numerous awards during his amateur career so far, and was the top college basketball recruit of 2013, having joined the University of Kansas.
The Canadian helped his country claim bronze in the FIBA World u17 Championship three years ago, during which time he was a teammate of Anthony Bennett - the No.1 overall pick of this year's NBA Draft.
