Liverpool have made a €14million offer for Arsenal defender target Kyriakos Papadopoulos, according to reports.
German newspaper Bild claims the Reds’ bid is on the table, despite the 21-year-old having a €22.5million minimum fee release clause in his contract.
And, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to lure the player to Anfield as he bids to rebuild the Liverpool defence.
Kolo Toure has already been drafted in on a free transfer this summer, following Jamie Carragher’s retirement, and is set to challenge Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger for a starting spot on Merseyside.
Papadopoulos would add further competition at Liverpool, and be another player for the future alongside Sebastian Coates.
However, the Reds aren’t the only Premier League team keen on a move, with Arsene Wenger also reported to be keen on the Greek international.
Reports last month claimed the Gunners were monitoring the centre back closely, and that a £13million offer might be enough to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Ashley Williams and Kurt Zouma, as the north London outfit look to add some depth alongside the likes of Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny.
