The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed a deal to sign two-time Super Bowl winner Lawrence Tynes, according to the New York Post.
The former New York Giants man is believed to have been brought in as a replacement for Connor Barth, who is set to miss the upcoming season through injury, and will become the Bucs first choice kicker.
Tynes has spent the last six seasons with the Giants, helping them to win two NFL titles, in 2007 and 2011. Also, the two times they reached the Super Bowl final he kicked the match-winning field goals in overtime.
Over the past four-seasons he converted a team-record 84.3 percent of his field goal attempts. Bucs general manager, Mark Dominic, stated that the player received several offers before opting on a move to Tampa.
“Lawrence and his agent, Ken Harris, had other standing opportunities, but we are pleased that they thought this was the right place for Lawrence to continue his career,” he told the New York Post.
