Robin van Persie says he was impressed by David Moyes during his first meeting with the new Manchester United manager.

Van Persie joined the squad on the pre-season tour of Australia earlier this week, and is relishing the fresh challenge that comes with the appointment of Moyes.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Frank Lampard was left out of Chelsea's win over the Singha All Stars as a precaution.

Lampard is struggling with an Achilles complaint, and Mourinho says he is not willing to jeopardise the fitness of the midfielder by using him in matches unnecessarily.

New Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini wants to get his team playing like Barcelona, according to Jack Rodwell.
