Neil Warnock is among the high-profile names to join BT Sport Live - a new nightly sports news show - ahead of the new season.

Warnock - who is out of work after leaving Leeds at the end of last season - will be a pundit for the information and debate show.

When commenting on his new role the Yorkshireman said in a press release sent to GiveMeSport: "I'm used to starting a new season in the dugout so this is going to be a very different year for me.

"I'm proud to be joining the BT Sport team and excited by their vision for football.

"I think everyone knows that I won't sit on the fence when it comes to opinions so it should be an interesting season and I can't wait to be a part of it."

BT Sport have added a number of new programmes and presenters to its network of channels, including BT Sport Films, Rugby Tonight and BT Sports Panel.

This season BT Sport will show 38 exclusively live football matches from the Barclays Premier League, while also showing live games from the likes of the FA Cup, UEFA Europa League and the Bundesliga just to name a few.

Grant Best - BT Sport’s EMMY award winning, senior executive channel producer - has reiterated BT's dedication to broadcast an exciting line-up of sport action for the future.

He said: “BT Sport is absolutely dedicated to giving fans a fresh, authoritative and innovative approach to the sports they love.

"Our exciting line-up of expert presenters and programmes from BT Sport’s state of the art studios will re-imagine the way fans watch, discuss, debate and absorb sport.”

BT Sport has also confirmed that Gary McAllister, the former Scotland captain, Motherwell, Leeds United and Liverpool midfielder will also join the team as co-commentator on its Scottish football coverage and other top flight football.
