The Daily Star reports how the 16-year-old emerged from the youth system of his local club Cibalia Vinkovci, and has attracted attention from a host of top European clubs.
A move to the Premier League was mooted, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers credited with an interest in bringing Dabro to Anfield, while new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has also been monitoring the situation.
However, both Premier League rivals have been dealt a blow in their respective pursuits of the talented teenager, after he confirmed that he is on the verge of signing for Fiorentina.
"I confirm I have reached an agreement with Fiorentina," Dabro told tuttomercatoweb. "Inter [Milan], Liverpool and [Manchester] City followed me too, but I've chosen Fiorentina.
"They have shown since the beginning to be a serious side and to be very interested in me."
Dabro likened himself in playing style to players like Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, and also revealed that Fiorentina's recent capture of Mario Gomez played a significant role in his decision to move to Florence.
"What striker am I like? I am like Cavani, Falcao, Van Persie and Mario Gomez," he added.
"And so, although initially I'm going to play in the Fiorentina's youth, it will be a great opportunity for me to see the German bomber [Gomez] play very closely to me. I cannot wait."
