Jose Mourinho has confirmed that both Juan Mata and David Luiz will remain at Chelsea.

There were rumours that one of the two could be offered as part of a deal for Manchester United's star forward Wayne Rooney.

But, upon his arrival in Malaysia as a part of Chelsea's pre-season tour, Mourinho immediately cleared the air.

When asked about the possibility of selling either, he said: "No chance. No chance."

Of course, this doesn't rule out the possibility of Rooney's move to Chelsea.

Manchester United remain insistent that he will stay at Old Trafford, but the star striker has made it clear that he refuses to be second-choice to Robin van Persie after nine years of service to the current champions.

About Rooney's dilemma, Mourinho added: "Any player that wants to go to the World Cup, if they are second choice in their club, they are in trouble. They are in trouble.

"At the same time, normally players who want to go to their national team and play for their country, normally they must be first-choice players for their club and playing regularly.

"I think it's a crucial year for them. Many national team coaches are worried because they want their players to play regularly for their clubs," Mourinho explained.

Mourinho seems unwilling to let go of his star players at the moment. But, in order to add Rooney to his squad, he'll have to increase Chelsea's £20million.

Meanwhile, Rooney will be receiving treatment for his hamstring injury at Manchester United's training complex.
