4. Dwight Gayle

For a player to make the list that has played so few games for Posh as Dwight Gayle shows the impact that he made at London Road.

Brought in from Dagenham and Redbridge to provide goals to a Posh side that were languishing at the bottom of the Championship table having lost 14 of their first 18 games, Gayle came as a complete unknown.

But, it didn't take long before he was making a name for himself as one of the hottest properties outside of the top-division. Seven goals came in his first eight games, as did a Decemeber player of the month award, and, more importantly, Posh finally had a potent outlet.

They went on to mount a real challenge for survival, but fell at the final hurdle to Crystal Palace - where Gayle has recently completed a £6million move to.

Not bad for a player who was playing for Bishop Stortford just two seasons ago.
