Fiorentina have reached an agreement to sell Montenegro striker Stevan Jovetic to Premier League club Manchester City.
The 23-year-old striker had previously been a target for Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
According to Fiorentina, Manchester City have won the race to sign the forward from the Serie A side.
Manchester City have been on the lookout for a new striker to fill the gap left by Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez, who joined Seria A champions Juventus.
Earlier this week, Manchester City completed the signing of Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla.
The 27-year-old is set to complete a medical at City, which will see the Spanish international make the switch to the Premier League.
Manchester City have already made two signings in winger Jesus Navas from Sevilla and central midfielder Fernandinho from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
New manager Manuel Pellegrini has not made the mistake former boss Roberto Mancini made last summer in waiting to make his signings late on in the transfer window.
