Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic is on the verge of moving to Premier League side Manchester City.

The Italian Serie A club have revealed that they have agreed to sell their prized asset to City, and the deal hinges on the youngster agreeing personal terms over the contract.

A statement published on Fiorentina's official Twitter account read: "An agreement has been reached with Manchester City Football Club for the permanent sale of the player Stevan Jovetic."

Montenegro international Jovetic is a regular fixture for his national side. He has already registered 10 goals in his 27 appearances so far. The 23-year-old striker who, is equally comfortable playing as the lone frontman or across the attacking midfield positions, will be a perfect addition to cover the departure of Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli at the Etihad.

City are also in advances talks with Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo after agreeing terms with the club. The duo is expected to land soon at the Etihad stadium to provide competition and cover for Sergio Kun Aguerro and Edin Dzeko.

Jovetic who is fondly known as Jo-Jo is going to be a great addition to Manuel Pellegrini's side. Youngster who took the Montenegro U-21's captains armband at the age of 17 is definitely going to impress the Premier League lovers with his footballing skills. 

Jovetic started his career in Partizan Belgrade and moved to Fiorentina in 2008 with much fanfare. The youngster became a fan favourite at Viola soon as he showed his ability to score decisive goals to knock out opposition time and again. Event hough an injury sidelined him for majority of 2010/11 season, he came back stronger and sharper to continue his progress and has netted 27 goals since then.

Viola forward has been their most influential and consistent player in recent times and will be hoping to carry that into Premier League. 

His brilliance in setting up goals and finishing them timely will be a major boost to Manchester City attacks which was weakened by the departure of the duo to Italian clubs. 

Jovetic is comfortable in playing across the front three as well as in withdrawn role, his versatility will be a handy addition to the City roster.

He is a good passer of the ball blessed with good vision to create goals out of nothing. Even though he needs improvement in crossing, his dancing feets helps him to gets past players with ease. 

He is someone who will win a number of free-kicks and with the number of quality set piece takers at Etihad stadium, he is guaranteed to fetch some goals.

His pace is a major threat to the opposition on counter attacks. Jovetic is someone who likes to cut inside and has a good long shot in his armoury. He is someone whom city can build their attacks on, and on his day he can destroy the opposition defence into shatters.

It remains to be seen how he adapts to the life in Premier League. With the talent and ability at his disposal, it won't take much time for Jovetic to establish his presence in the league. 

With age on his side, Jovetic is likely to improve with experience and the fans will be hoping that, he will blossom into one of their finest weapons.
