Pep Guardiola poked in the eye at Bayern photoshoot

Published 9 Comments

Pep Guardiola will no doubt consider himself fortunate to have inherited a Bayern Munich squad littered with world class talent and already possessing the mental fortitude of serial winners.

It is then, perhaps, karma of sorts that the new Bayern boss was brought down from on high, after he was on the receiving end of an unfortunate smack in the face during a photoshoot with his new charges.

Maybe in a move to bring himself to the attention of Guardiola given Manuel Neuer's selection supremacy, Bayern's back-up goalkeeper Tom Starke was caught on video poking the former Barcelona boss in the eye.

Guardiola was in a world of his own strolling towards the Bayern squad, who were assembled for a team snap, but soon found himself wincing as Starke's errant finger wedged its way into his eye socket.

A momentarily blinded Guardiola, though, was embraced by Starke who was quick to ensure he apologised to his new manager.
