Sunderland are set to sign Gino Peruzzi for a fee of £5 million from Velez Sarsfield, according to the Daily Mail.

Peruzzi is in Sunderland today trying to negotiate a deal, after the two clubs agreed to a fee during the week.

The Argentinian would become Sunderland's 10th signing of this summer already as new boss Paolo Di Canio looks to make his mark on the side.

Peruzzi is a 21-year-old full-back who is famed for his attacking style which has seen him establish himself as a fine prospect.

He already has four caps for the Argentine national side, after impressing in the Argentine Premier League with Velez Sarsfield.

Di Canio has been looking to fund his incoming transfers by selling some players that he feels will not fit into his first-team plans this season.

These players include Danny Graham, who is having a medical at Hull, and Alfred N’Diaye, who looks set to move to Turkey.
