Ricky van Wolfswinkel: The perfect striker for Norwich City

With the summer transfer window well and truly underway, we have already seen some fantastic captures for many Premier League clubs.

One, however, that has almost been overlooked was Norwich City’s capture of Dutch international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Although the £8.5m deal had been completed half-way through last season, Van Wolfswinkel officially became a Norwich City player earlier this month.

The 24-year-old has proved that he knows where the net is in the past few years, managing 43 goals in 85 games.

Despite not being a strong, powerful striker, Van Wolfswinkel has been known to play as a targetman, while also comfortable operating as a poacher.

He is tremendous at playing on the shoulder of the last defender, which is something that the Canaries may not have had with Grant Holt.

With the support of players such as Wes Hoolahan and Robert Snodgrass, Van Wolfswinkel is sure to find himself in front of goal time and time again - and this is where he is at his best.

A player that has been linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea in recent years has the potential to become a top Premier League striker, and could quite easily lead his new team to new heights in the future.
