Full-back Vonta Leach looks set to enter the training camp season without knowing with what team his future lies as he is still available in the free agency market.
The Miami Dolphins were believed to be leading the race for the 31-year-old, but it is now understood the team want to see how their current players on the roster perform before they decide on whether to continue their pursuit.
The Dolphins are set to go off to their training camp without offering the star a contract, which could leave the door open for other teams to swoop in and steal the player from under their noses.
Leach's former team, the Baltimore Ravens, have made it clear that he is always welcome back at the club, although most likely on a lower salary.
"Of course, Vonta likes the Ravens," his agent Ralph Vitolo told the Baltimore Sun on Thursday.
"Why wouldn't he? Maybe he ends up back there. Who knows? Until it happens, there's no sense in pure speculation."
Considering the experience that Leach brings it is surprising that no one has made him an offer. Although, it isn't a huge concern if he doesn't start training camp with a team as his incredible work ethic will ensure he stays healthy.
If the Dolphins don't sign him up soon they could end up losing out on one of the best full-backs still playing NFL football.
