Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists the club are in full control of Luis Suarez's future, as the unsettled Uruguayan striker prepares to join the squad on tour.
Suarez's flight to Australia is already arranged and he will meet the the rest of the Liverpool's squad in Melbourne on Monday, even though clubs continue to pursue him.
Brendan Rodgers stated that Luis Suarez will be a Liverpool player next season, unless anything drastic happens. Rodgers seems to have genuine belief that Suarez will remain at Liverpool next season. Even though they know Real Madrid have the power to make a significant bid at any given moment and change the whole scenario, Liverpool are determined to keep Luis Suarez.
Arsenal are the only team, so far who have made an offer for Suarez, but Rodgers thinks the offer was not worthy of his talent. Luis Suarez's advisors are hoping that a £40million bid will trigger a clause in his contract, but Rodgers seems to think otherwise by stating that even a fee similar to the £55million Paris-Saint-Germain paid for Edinson Cavani wouldn't guarantee that Suarez will be sold.
Rodgers doesn't know how much will this saga go on for, but something for sure is that he won't be letting the speculation continue much longer and will speak with the striker when he arrives on tour.
''It is not going to run that far'' said Rodgers, when asked when does he thinks this saga will end. ''I don't want to put a deadline on it or set a date but it's not something which will run too long. We are in total control of the situation.''
