Hull City have this afternoon confirmed the arrival of Danny Graham on a season-long loan from fellow Premier League club Sunderland.

Graham, 27, only joined Sunderland in the January transfer window of 2013. However, he failed to find the net during his 11 games with the Black Cats during the 2012/13 season.

Graham revealed that having held talks with Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio, it became clear to him that he had no first team future at the club.

Talks progressed quickly after the Tigers made an approach to Sunderland for the services of Graham.

Graham left the Sunderland training camp in Italy before heading to Portugal to sign for Premier League new-boys Hull.

Danny Graham becomes manager Steve Bruce's seventh summer signing. He joins Steve Harper, Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa, Ahmed El-Mohamady and George Boyd in signing for the Yorkshire side this summer.

Speaking to www.hullcityafc.net, Graham revealed his satisfaction at completing the switch: "It’s great to come to a club where everybody is on a high after winning promotion and I’ve only heard good things about this club."

The English striker drew comparisons between Hull City and former club Swansea, citing Steve Bruce as a key factor in the decision-making process: “It’s exactly the same as when I joined Swansea a couple of years ago, a club coming up into the Premier League.

"The stories for the two clubs are very similar. I know I’m coming to a good club with a top manager, a fantastic stadium and some very good players."

The Tigers' new signing could make his first appearance tomorrow, as Hull face Sheffield Wednesday at The KC Stadium in a pre-season friendly.

Hull open their Premier League campaign with a visit to Chelsea on Sunday August 18.
