Spanish international Raul Albiol has joined Serie A runners-up Napoli ahead of the new campaign.
The deal, which is worth €12million, was completed today following the completion and clearance of medical testing.
The 27-year-old Spaniard joins after four seasons with the nine-time European Cup winners, during which he appeared on 117 occasions.
Albiol had increasingly found first-team football opportunities hard to come by under previous manager Jose Mourinho, and the emergence of Raphael Varane looked set only to limit them further under new boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The defender has signed a four-year deal for the Partenopei, and becomes the club's seventh addition of the summer.
He follows in the footsteps of Emmanuele Calaio, Jose Callejon, Dries Mertens, Pablo Armero, Josip Radosevic and Rafael in signing permanent deals with the club.
Albiol, who has been capped 40 times by the Spanish national team, is expected to be joined by international teammate Jose Reina in the coming days - following the completion of a loan switch from Liverpool.
