Korean goalkeeper scores 90-yard free-kick goal

Published 7 Comments

Jung-Hyuk Kwon was the toast of the K-League terraces on Sunday, after the Incheon United goalkeeper scored a freak 90-yard goal in a 1-1 draw with Jeju United.

Taking a free-kick from just outside his own box, the 34-year-old converted his first ever professional goal in the most unlikely of circumstances, after his long-range punt was misjudged by his opposite number.

Kwon's hopeful kick upfield bounced on Jeju United's 18-yard line and proceeded to bounce over the outrushing home goalkeeper Jun-Hyuk Park, and into the unguarded net.

Cue wild scenes of celebration from the crowd, who looked on in amazement as the 6ft 1in stopper was caught out by the crazy set-piece at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.
