With Luis Suarez landing in Australia to undergo 'crunch' talk with Brendan Rodgers over his Liverpool future, let's look at five forwards who could fill the void the Uruguayn may leave.
1. Alvaro Morata | Real Madrid
The young Spaniard has been subject to serious Premier League interest throughout the summer - especially Merseyside outfit, Liverpool.
Despite Morata only being 20 years old, he is an established player. Alvaro featured throughout the 2012/13 campaign under Jose Mourinho and has shown fantastic potential to become a major European force.
Morata is a huge presence on the pitch and is very effective in aerial situates. Dubbed the 'new Raul' by many pundits, Morata could prove to be the perfect Suarez replacement if the Uruguayan decides to leave Anfield.
Morata is ready to take a step up in world football and really announce himself on the European scene. Morata helped his national side Spain U21s to a European Championship victory over Italy and really flourished in the tournament; 'he scored as well as assisted and really shone alongside some of the worlds greatest young talents.
Liverpool may have spotted a gem in the shape of Morata and he could prove to be perfect for the Merseysiders.
2. Christian Benteke | Aston Villa
The want-away Villa forward Christian Benteke has fantastic ability, he really shined last season and almost single-handedly kept Villa in the Premier League. The scored several key goals for his club and really showed just how good he is.
Benteke, who signed a new contract with Villa last week, could still be the perfect replacement for Luis Suarez. The big Belgian is a proven goalscorer and a real leader on the pitch.
He runs the offensive line and has a variety of talents. Despite being a big lad, Benteke is very good with his feet: he has great flair and as well as a prolific goalscorer the Belgian superstar is a fantastic technician on the pitch, providing key passes and assists as well as chipping into his teams goal tally.
Benteke arrived at Villa Park last season after his £7m move from Genk. He really flourished and proved himself in the opening fixtures and really pushed on from that point, proving himself to be a major force in the English game.
A leader as well as a goalscorer may well be what Liverpool are looking for and Benteke is certainly a very good option for the Reds who have already been credited with an interest in the big Belgian's services this summer.
3. Demba Ba | Chelsea
The ex-Newcastle superstar may become surplus to requirements this summer at Chelsea as Mourinho looks to freshen up his Chelsea side.
Ba is rumoured to be one of the casualties of the Mourinho revival and he would prove to be a fantastic signing for any major Premier League club. Ba has been prolific at every level of football he has played in, and with Premier League experience under his belt he could be perfect for Liverpool.
Lukaku looks to be the favourite forward at Chelsea and with Mourinho looking set to give Torres another chance, Ba may be the man left out.
Despite the Senegalese forward being central to the success for Chelsea since his January arrival from fellow Premier League rivals Newcastle, Ba has been a talisman at his club and has led the Blues offensive line extremely well in the short period of time he has been there.
Although Mourinho insists everyone will get their fair share of playing time Ba seems to be the outcast with Mourinho and Roman Abramovich both setting their sights on Manchester United superstar Wayne Rooney.
If the approach for the Englishmen is successful then Ba is sure to head for the exit door and an approach from the Reds would be a wise Rodgers move in my eyes.
Liverpool need a goalscorer and Ba is an outstanding example of that. As well as being a fantastic option Ba could come as cheap as £7m as Mourinho will be looking to ship out players as soon as possible.
4. Loic Remy | QPR
Despite the relegation of QPR last time round Remy stood out as a class act for his club. Remy often shone his brilliance for Harry Redknapp and was a bright light in the dark times for Queens Park Rangers.
The Frenchman joined Harry's QPR in January and flourished under the English tactician - although QPR were eventually relegated from the Premier League Remy made a really positive account for himself in the league and has attracted interest from some of Europe's top clubs.
Remy would come in a cut-price deal after the relegation of his club and could cost as little as £5m for any suitors. He could be a cheap and efficient option for Liverpool and has proved himself as a top goalscorer.
There's no question about Remy's ability and he could prove to be a fantastic asset to any suitor that come in for him.
5. Fabio Quagliarella | Juventus
The Juventus forward played out a fantastic season last time round earning his team consecutive Serie A titles.
Juventus will be keen on keeping hold of their prized asset but with the arrival of Spain forward Fernando Llorente from Bilbao, Juve may be set for the Italians exit. Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the Italian several times before but if Suarez does depart the Merseyside outfit then the speculation may turn into a concrete bid from Liverpool as Rodgers looks to bring in depth to his squad.
Quagliarella is a goalscorer as well as a technician and could prove to be the perfect replacement for the Uruguayan at Anfield should he depart.
