Liverpool striker Krisztian Adorjan is set to spend the upcoming season away from Anfield, as his season-long loan move to FC Groningen nears closer to completion.
The Eredivisie side have already incorporated the Hungarian into training sessions in recent weeks, and have now agreed a deal with Liverpool.
According to talkSPORT, the deal will be completed on Monday afternoon once the player has agreed to the move.
Initially, the loan will only be temporary, but there is apparent interest for it to develop into a permanent transfer for the 20-year-old forward.
Adorjan has never played competitively for the Liverpool first team, but he was part of the pre-season squad that travelled to the USA last summer.
Pepe Reina is also poised to leave Liverpool on a similar loan deal. The goalkeeper’s move to Napoli will see him reunited with former manager and compatriot Rafael Benitez.
And while Brendan Rodgers has admitted that the Spaniard’s exit was influenced by financial issues, it seems that Adorjan’s is more concerned with giving the youngster more playing time and experience.
