Many players have been linked with "moneybags Arsenal" so far this summer. This article will run through which ones are likely, unlikely or simply made up.
The prodigal son returns? An Arsenal fan favourite through and through, memorable for breaking his leg in the Champions League and playing on regardless. Fabregas would be the hub of the new Arsenal team and his cutting edge passing and finishing could provide a well needed boost to Arsenal's goal tally.
However a move back to north London is unlikely - he has said that he is happy at Barcelona and is intent on staying despite interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.
Verdict: 40% chance. If he does leave it will be to Arsenal however it's more likely he'll stay put for now.
One of the star players of last season, and a player that surely deserves Champions League football - something that Arsenal can offer.
However his release clause is a steep £24 millon. Yes that is the same price Arsenal sold the league to Manchester United last season for. Is Fellaini really a league winning player and is he going to suit the slick Arsenal passing style?
These are questions that Wenger has to ask, however if purchased I'm sure he would bring some strength and a core to the Arsenal midfield the likes of which hasn't been seen since Viera.
Verdict: 50% chance, If Wenger wants him I think he could get him but he will face competition from David Moyes at Manchester United.
Highly likely to leave Manchester United. Chelsea are also in the hunt for him and Wenger knows better than to enter into a bidding war with the mad Russian Roman Abramovich. A lot of Arsenal fans would see buying Rooney from United as payback for the loss of Van Persie but I doubt this will sway Arsene Wenger who rarely lets emotions get in the way of his signings.
Verdict: 50% chance, again if Wenger really wants him it's possible but we better hope Abramovich gets another striker otherwise we might be out-bid.
The first question for fans and the manager is, do we really want him? The controversy surrounding Suarez is ridiculous.
Racial abuse, centre back biting and diving (Eduardo is an exception) is something that Arsenal don't want to get caught up in. Can a player who is missing 12 games a season through bans really provide the striking power Arsenal need so desperately?
It's something for each fan to decide; for me it's a yes, he has been one of the leagues best strikers since his arrival at Liverpool and a consistent forward is exactly what Arsenal need.
Verdict: 70% chance, if Suarez wants the move I can see this easily happening. He wants Champions League and ambition, two things that Arsenal can offer this season. Madrid have already splashed the cash on Isco and Illarramendi so I'd say Arsenal are prime to sign him.
A really good player with proven goalscoring ability and someone that is surely sick of bench warming for Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The deal was almost complete before Madrid stalled, pushing up the price they are looking for to £30 million. At which point Wenger started looking at other options. However he is still a very good player and I'm sure Arsenal fans would love to see him at the club.
Verdict: 50/100% chance, 50% if Wenger signs another striker too, however if he misses out on Rooney and Suarez I am 100% sure that we will put all efforts into getting Gonzalo and land him.
