Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan youngster Frederic Injai, but face direct competition from Bayer Leverkusen, reports talkSPORT.
The 17-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro this summer, despite the fact he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Serie 'A' giants.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to bring the talented teenager to White Hart Lane before the start of the 2013/14 campaign, but will have to battle Injai's Bundesliga suitors if he is to secure the player's signature.
The former Nantes starlet has a burgeoning reputation back in his homeland, after graduating through France's esteemed Clarefontaine youth academy.
Now, it looks as though Injai could be on the move again this transfer window with England and Germany believed to be his most likely destination.
Bayer Leverkusen are expected to make a formal bid for the player's services by the end of the week, so Tottenham will have to move quickly if they are serious about enticing him to north London.
