Valencia's club president has urged teams interested in signing Roberto Soldado to make their opening offers sooner rather than later. The Spain international has been linked with Tottenham, and Valencia want the situation clarified so they can begin their search for a replacement.

Carles Puyol is confident Cesc Fabregas will not be leaving Barcelona despite the news that Manchester United have lodged a second bid. David Moyes revealed on Monday that the two clubs have been in contact regarding the midfielder, with a second £30m offer reportedly submitted to Barcelona.

Samir Nasri has admitted he found last season tough, with criticism of his performances leaving him "hurt". Nasri was one of several players to endure a dip in form last term, but the Frenchman insists he's ready to go ahead of the new season under manager Manuel Pellegrini.
