Kelly Slater is the main attraction on day three of the Vans US Open of Surfing in California.
The 11-time ASP world surfing champions is aiming to shine at Huntingdon Beach once again this year, having won the title on two separate occasions in the past.
However, the 41-year-old legend was unable to add to his victories in 1996 and 2011 last time out, with Julian Wilson taking the honours and Slater finishing third.

Dane Reynolds is another big-name to watch out for, whilst Brazilian sensation Gabriel Medina also made it into the final 96 after qualifying yesterday.
He was joined by Garrett Parkes (AUS), Maxime Huscenot (FRA) and Heath Joske (AUS), with the trio also surviving in unusually overcast conditions.
Each surfer is battling to reach round two, which takes place tomorrow and Wednesday, before the business end of the tournament towards the end of the week. Then, the ultimate goal is victory on Sunday, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final all taking place in a five hour showdown that morning.
Given Slater's track record, it would be a major surprise if he didn't make it to the weekend, but given the strength of the competition this year, he's unlikely to have it all his own way on the waves!
