Santi Cazorla vs David Silva: Head-to-head
Santi Cazorla & David Silva have both excelled in the Premier League - but which player is better?
Over recent years, we have seen many Spanish players come and ply their trade in the Premier League, but Santi Cazorla and David Silva have stood-out in recent time.
These two Spanish magicians are always at the heart of their teams attack when going forward, but which player is better?
With only one year separating their age, there isn't much to go on in terms of a certain one having the more potential, but more of which player will show his true ability over the coming seasons in the Premier League.
There are many similarities amongst these two play-makers, their height, physical size, passing ability and technique are very much the same. Some will argue that David Silva is mostly left-footed, where Santi Cazorla is very comfortable using either foot when passing or shooting.
Since 2010 in the Premier League, Silva has featured 103 times for Manchester City, scoring 14, and assisting an impressive 35 times, and comparing this to his Spanish team-mate at Arsenal, Cazorla has played 38 league games since his arrival in 2012, scoring 12 and assisting 14.
Personally, I am finding it difficult to choose which maestro is better, but if I was to choose one in my squad, it would have to be Arsenal's number 19, Santi Cazorla. My reasons are, short but simple, the 28-year-old has dazzled many defenders and got many fans off their seats with his confident and close dribbling, his short and long-range passing completion are top draw, and the goals he is capable of scoring with either foot either inside, or outside the box.
Now I am not saying that Silva is a poor dribbler of a ball, as he is very talented, and can also turn defenders inside-out, but in my opinion I think that Cazorla has that extra bit of composure and coolness about him when the pressure is on.
These two players are both great additions to the Premier League, and I hope they keep on entertaining the fans week-in, week-out for many years to come.
